02/06/2018 – "Simply Reviews" is the global online tech media that pride themselves on cutting through all the hype to bring back the truth about any product and service for everyone! They recently turned their attention to Thecus’ budget-friendly 4-bay NAS, the N4350.

The Thecus N4350 distinguishes itself with its energy efficiency at a highly attractive price. "Thecus has a fine reputation for value as its burgeoning NAS appliance family is one of the most affordable on the market. It goes even further with its latest N4350 as this compact desktop NAS offers four hot-swap SATA drive bays, a reasonable set of storage features."

The N4350 is no slouch in the performance stakes as it returned respectable speeds in Gigabit testings. “With a NAS share mapped to a Dell PowerEdge R640 Xeon Scalable Windows rack server, Iometer reported raw sequential read and write rates of 111MB/sec and 112MB/sec.”

The N4350 comes preinstalled with Thecus’ latest OS7 firmware. “It’s freshly designed web interface is more intuitive that its predecessor while its desktop space can display custom backgrounds along with quick access icons for your favorite apps.”

The overall assessment of the NAS was positive, having the N4350 being awarded the Value award. “The Home users and SOHOs that want a basic, easy to use NAS appliance for file sharing and data protection won’t find a cheaper alternative than the N4350. […] Gigabit performance is good, it has hot-swap drive bays plus a good set of backup tools and won’t be faulted for build quality.”

  • Small, quiet and very solid
  • Great value
  • ThecusOS7 firmware
  • Good Gigabit performance
